The Foundation after Blasting

October 23, 2023 Here is the foundation area after the blasting and the blasted rock was removed by the excavator. There is now room for a 7' tall basement. Because there is a minimal depth to blasting (to keep the rock from flying all over the place) we will now end up with basement that we can use for storage and our mechanical equipment (heating, electric panel, etc.). Also the blasting provided us with enough rock to build all of the road beds, without the additional rock we would have had to truck in approximately 3,000 sq. yds. of rock.
