Apple Express works flawlessly!!!, Sep 29, 2023 I recently added Verizon DSL to my home. I needed to have a hardwire ethernet for a PC and a Mac located within 10 feet of each other and also needed wireless for my Apple laptop. I bought $20 Linksys workgroup switch and attached it to the DSL modem that Verizon supplied. I then attached the ehternet cables from the PC and Mac to the switch . Worked like a charm. I then purchased the Airport Express. I used another ethernet cable attached to the switch and hooked up the Airport Express. I followed the Airport set up directions on my laptop and had the wireless network up and running in less than 10 minutes. It works flawlessly. I have the Airport Express plugged in at the foot of the stairs in my basement and I obtain a very decent connection in my bedroom which is two stories up. I have tried it in every room in this 3 story house and have no problems. This little baby works like a charm. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to add wireless to their home network.

Using with an HP Laptop, Sep 23, 2023 I have both Mac and PC computers. The Airport Express comes with setup instructions for both operating systems which was a strong plus to me. I will eventually move from my Mac desktop to a Mac laptop. But right now only my HP Laptop is running thru the Airport Express. Even with my very limited networking knowledge I found setting it up to be quite easy. It is connected to a DSL router with four network ports with 2 decktop PC's and a Mac connected via ethernet to the other three ports . I have the Airport Express raised to about eyeheight level.

Open the box and you're wireless!, Sep 21, 2023 This simply couldn't be easier. Plug it in, connect it to your cable modem, run the utilities on your iMac and you have a wireless network. I have it about 30 feet from my computer and it works great, with no problems with signal or intermittent interruptions. It also allows me to listen to all my iTunes music via my home stereo system (I really like that!) with nothing more than an additional connection (from the Airport Express to the auxiliary input of the stereo). I highly recommend this. I'm thinking of getting this for my computer (barely) literate parents' house, too.

i can't believe i didn't buy one sooner, Sep 18, 2023 friends had been telling me to buy this over a slimserver for months...but i didn't listen. as much as i love the slimdevices squeezebox, i had huge issues with lag, it hogging memory making my computer unusable, etc...its not for novice computer users! despite that, i loved the darned thing. even my wife became a fan of streaming digital music throughout the house.
then i took the plunge and purchased the airtunes device: i plugged it in, installed the software and within minutes (after a quick firmware upgrade), the darned thing was working like a charm!
i travel alot, so it's also nice to have this little gizmo to set up a wireless hotspot in your hotel room.
highly recommended...so simple it's absurd!

Painless and Powerful Wireless Print Serving, Sep 16, 2023 Apple once again brings us an attractive and highly functional internet appliance that is a breeze to set up and a pleasure to use. Load the application on your PC or Mac and follow the simple instructions and you're up and running. After purchasing and configuring a couple of leading brands of Wireless Network Print Servers I was constantly plagued with unreliability in my ability to access an HP printer. I read up on the AirPort Express and they listed print serving as a function it could perform so I took a chance and purchased one. I hooked it up in about 10 minutes and it has stayed up without any rework for over six months. I would also recommend using it in conjunction with Rendezvous (free download from Apple) for Macs or Bonjour (free from Apple again) for PC's to automatically identify your network printers and select the one you want to print to. I like it a lot.
