Great for home -- not for travel We received this pack n'play before our daughter was born. It was simple to set up and take down, but I would recommend just leaving it set up. It is really heavy to carry and the bag that is used for storage does not have any handles or straps, making it very bulky to carry. We've travelled with this a couple times since I don't trust hotel cribs, but have decided just to let our daughter sleep with us in the future at the hotels. Otherwise, we love the 3/4 bassinet. It gives the baby more room than a 1/2 size. We didn't really use the mobile. I kept taking it down since it always seemed to be in the way, and my daughter wasn't interested in it anyway. The changing table also came in handy for those middle-of-the-night changings. We used this in our room for a few months until we moved our daughter to her crib. All-in-all, I would recommend this pack n' play. Great Pack 'N Play! We used this pack 'n play (3/4 bassinet) as baby's bed when she first came home - that way, we could be in the same room. We now use it as our downstairs changing table. It was a cinch to set up - just follow the directions. It easily moves around the house when set up as it has wheels on one end. As one reveiwer mentioned, the mobile did seem to be in the way at first, but once we realized it swivels 360 degrees, the problem went away. Just push it out of the way when lifting baby out of the bassinet. The electronic music and nature sounds are very nice (we don't use this feature a lot, but it's a nice option to have) and the lights proved to be very handy for nighttime changes - soft and dim, but enough light to diaper by in the wee hours of the morning when she slept in it. Other reviewers have mentioned the quilting in the bassinet - I never noticed that it was bulky. In fact, I had once wished it had a bit more batting in it. Mine doesn't bunch up at all. I love the neutral, yet fun, print. the only problem I have is that the mobile doesn't move (all Graco's hanging bears do just that - hang...my daughter gets impatient once they stop rotating, so I am constantly swinging them to keep her amused). So far, it's been a great buy! I'm sure we'll use it for a long time to come! Go for the simple version As first time parents, we were looking for all the best gear when we registered for this product. We pictured ourselves using all the gadgets that accompanied it all the time, however our daughter is 8 weeks old, and we haven't used any of it even once! By the time we use it, she will be too big for the basinette option. (We already had a separate basinette she slept in after she was born). We also don't need the changing table because we change her on her changing table in her room, or on the floor where she is playing. It is also VERY heavy and difficult to consolidate into the small case after it is all taken out of the box. The gadgets (the changing table, mobile, etc) don't fit into the carrying case, so you will not only have a heavy bulky playyard to carry, but also lots of extra stuff to tote along. However, it is easy to set up and take down, and is very sturdy. I'm sure we will use it more as our daughter becomes more active, but we certainly didn't need all the extra stuff. Save your money and go for a simpler version. |
