Great presentation, Apr 29, 2023 This book gives the same concepts as many other books. But, what makes this book stand out in the crowd is the presentation style. The concepts I learn from Head First series books stick in my mind forever. Must read for learning design patterns, without slipping into sleep :-)

This is possibly the greatest "technical" book i've read., Apr 28, 2023 Simply put, this book is amazing. Now, I've gone through my fair share of tech books on various subjects and not once has a book grabbed my attention quite like this one has.
This book is a very fun and easy read, yet I have never absorbed so much information from any other tech book like I did with this one. It takes learning back to the old-school. It's almost like getting in touch with your inner-child. I was reminded of how learning was back in elementary school. It sounds bad, but really it's the best way to grasp such a complex subject. The pages are riddled with elementary school-esque drawings and humor is peppered throughout this book so heavily that you can't help but turn to the next page and keep on reading.
Now, don't you think that this book is a complete breeze. Yes, it is an easy read, but you will still have to study this book to really absorb the information. There are some practice exercises that can seem a bit daunting at times, but once you do figure it out you will get the "I am THE man! (or woman)" feeling. You will get a rush of understanding that only the best books can provide.
The design of this book truly is genius. I wish there were more books like this out there. I have never learned so much - so easily. I give this book my highest recommendation EVER! yes... EVER!

Wonderful, Apr 26, 2023 This is probably the best book anybody could have ever read on the topic. I'm glad that I bought this book. I also have 'classic' GoF book but having bought this one there is hardly any reason to look back on to the GoF book. C++/Smalltalk examples and boring paragraphs of texts? Not anymore!. If you are Java developer, just buy this book. Highly recommended.

The FIRST design patterns book that anyone must read., Apr 22, 2023 The first Head First book that I bought was Head First Java, which I got from a local store her in Taipei for a good friend of mine who was learning java... but I ended up reading it myself. I was so impressed with that book, that I have to buy Head First EJB and JSP/Servlet for our department.
Now comes probably the best book of the Head First series (and may I mention the best looking cover of them all). It makes reading one of the most serious, important and sometimes difficult to understand subjects in the OO universe fun and easy to read. This isn't the first design pattern I read though, and it made me regret the fact that it wasn't. Maybe the difference between this and any of Mr. Fowler's design patterns books is that this one sits on my cubicle while Fowler's are in my shelf.

An easy read that provides great examples., Apr 5, 2023 If you are thinking about buying a book on Design Patterns, buy this book! It takes a completely different (refreshing) approach at technical writing. They start with a real world issue and show how to solve it. Then tell you what the technical pattern definition is. Great book!
