Nah, more like Kelly is playing dress-up in replicas of big sister Barbie's vintage outfits.
This set is executed quite nicely. The face paint is simple and sweet, not too grown-up or dramatic. The hair is nicely done, although Mattel could have spent a little bit more time on the bubblecut. The outfits are very well made, as close to looking like the vintage dresses as I would expect in such small scale.
I am happy with this set (bought it for my daughter's collection) but I do wish they had varied the Kelly dolls a bit more. Throwing in a platinum and/or a titian hair colour would have been nice. |
