Editorial Reviews:
Editorial Review Playmobil playsets are famous for the relentless cheerfulness of their characters, situations, and locales. So what to make of a set that features a prison tower, a pirate, a guard, and a skeleton on a chain? Regardless of the bleak tableau, the set remains somehow fun and light and neither of the two lead characters seems to be too upset about their natural-born antipathy. Kids will love playing a good old-fashioned game of pirates, and the accoutrements, while evocative of every beloved buccaneer cliché, are neutral enough to afford numerous pretend-play scenarios. Each figure is about 3-inches tall and the skeleton glows in the dark in case the child's imagination drifts toward ghost story territory. --Charlie Williams |
