My infant daughter received this as a gift. It is a very eye- and ear- catching toy. The rings are attractive, colorful, and full of great noises for infants. However the pole is too flimsy. Even my 2.5 year old can easily get frustrated trying to put the rings on.

I love the individual rings that make up this stacking toy. The bright colors, textures, and sounds make them great for a younger baby just starting to explore and manipulate things. Unfortunately, it isn't very good for what it is designed for -- stacking. The middle pole is cloth and is too flimsy. My one year old can stack plastic rings, but when she tries to stack these onto the pole, the pole bends away from her. You really have to use one hand to steady the pole, and one to hold the ring, which is beyond most toddlers. Still, she loves carrying pieces of this toy around the house.

This toy is not challenging enough for a child older than 15 months. However, it is attractive and entertaining for infants who are younger than that.

Even our infant's babysitters can't resist this toy!, Aug 13, 2023
This toy must have some kind of gravitational pull, since it is unfailingly the one that gets taken off the toy shelf. As soon as my five-month-old could roll with ease, he would pull it down himself. Even both his babysitters have said that this is the cutest toy they've ever seen. Cuteness aside, it's also a lot of fun. The premise is that you stack the different rings -- one is a rooster's head; two of the others have feet or wings attached -- to form a brightly-colored stacking hen. Our baby is still too young for stacking, but he's old enough to pull the rings off the pole and swing the empty pole around and around. The baby (and I) also like the fact that, unlike some other stacking toys, each ring does something -- squeaks, crinkles, rattles, etc. -- and can be played with separately like big fat doughnuts. You also can place the rings on your child's wrists as bracelets,which adds to the fun factor. From a practical standpoint, I like that the stacking hen is completely machine-washable. Plus, since the stacking pole is made from fabric (and I presume foam or something), I don't worry about the baby cloinking his head on a hard plastic or wooden pole. The only drawback to this toy is the price. There are several other stacking toys on the market that cost less, but I think that the few extra dollars are worth it for the cuteness and safety factors alone!
