Editorial Review
Designed to fit into the wide-opening Diaper Genie units, each bright blue refill canister contains enough plastic film to wrap up to 140 large disposable diapers (or 180 newborn diapers). After unlatching the childproof latch and lifting the plastic cover on your Diaper Genie, the refill canister slides into the top of the unit. This wide-opening refill will not fit into the narrow openings on the original Diaper Genie models. However, consumers who own one of the original, narrow-opening Diaper Genies can still purchase refills (sold separately) that will fit into their units. --Chris Burns

5Great!, Mar 27, 2023
Our son is only two weeks old and the Genie is worth its weight in gold! It's easy to use and the refills last a long time (for now). There is no smell and it is very easy to empty. Although it's a little tough to operate (push button and lift lid) with one hand, it is possible. Most of the time one handed operation is not necessary because we have the Genie very close to the changing table. I cant imagine the smell or hassle that would be involved with doing it any other way.

5Diaper Genie, Mar 5, 2023
We love the Diaper Genie! I seriously don't know what we would do without it. It is really easy once you get the hang of it. There is no smell outside of the unit, the inside can get king of stinky. Just be sure to spray the inside of the genie with Lysol everytime you empty it. That way the inside won't smell. I would recommend this product to anyone with a baby or toddler.

4A Real Genie!, Oct 17, 2023
When used properly, no problem with this product. No smells whatsoever. Doesn't take up space and very good indeed! Worth the money and effort.

5Great once you get it figured out!!, Sep 18, 2023
It takes a while to get it right, but it is a lifesaver when you do, no more stinky diapers and very easy to use. A must have for a new mom!!!

1Horrible Purchase!, Sep 7, 2023
We purchased our Diaper Genie before our son, now 2 1/2, was born. What a mistake! The Genie is a piece of junk. I don't even know where to start with my complaints. First, the refills are expensive, for how little use you get out of them. When your child is in the smaller size diapers, you get more mileage out of the refills, but as your child grows and needs larger sized diapers, you will go through a refill at least every 1 1/2 weeks. Second, the "convenient" twist system is a joke. The first diaper usually works fine, but the next 5-6 diapers want to drop into the same pocket. Even when you try to fix the problem, it still doesn't work. Third, the whole concept of having to open, drop, twist, and close is very inconvenient when you are trying to restrain an undiapered, squirming child. None of those "easy" steps are able to be completed with one hand, especially when you cannot get the darn thing to twist correctly! Fourth, what can I say about the odor?! We could smell poopy diapers the minute we stepped into our son's nursery. The poor child--having to suffer through sleeping in this stench while his moronic parents tried to cope with this worthless product, rather than buying a better diaper system. The Genie stinks while closed, open, empty, or full. About a month before our daughter was born (our son was 16 months old then), we invested in the Diaper Dekor Plus and have had NO COMPLAINTS with it! As for the Genie, it was thrown with force into our dumpster--take that for smelling up our son's room! So parents, please do not torture your children by using a Genie--it is a horrible product and should be put out of its misery! I only regret that I had to rate it with 1 star--it doesn't deserve even that!
