just run it in window98 compatibilty mode -

 No support for Windows XP, Jan 2, 2023
We bought the Vision Command, and got it working on Windows 98. Now we have a Windows XP PC, that is not supported by the original software. Lego cannot supply us with an update, though their web-site indicates that their Consumer Services would send such a CD-ROM upon request. We are deeply disappointed. No fun anymore, and the educational value has also gone down to 1 star.

It's loads of fun and it does now work on XP. I spent about a year looking for it but now it appears you can download a patch from LEGO to get an XP patch thingy. Just go to http://www.lego.com/mindstorms and SEARCH for Vision Command XP. All you have to do is request a CD by emailing them or phoning them and they get it to you. I tried it today so of course I dont know how long it takes to get delivered. But its great fun and with the robotics set (I imagine) is brilliant for sitmuulating young minds

The Vision comand systerm is very fun to use. You can program the camera to detect motion, light, color, and sound and react to them such as play music, take a picture of record a video. If you own the Robotics Invention System you can use both sets together and make a robot that can be controled from your computer. The robot can also move twards the item the camera ditects. Overall I was very pleased with the Vision Comand set.
