I am a total fan of this series and I thought that Girls In Pants was Anne Brashare's best book yet.I couldn't put it down. I read it in one sitting and when I finished I resisted the urge to start over again.I wanted to savor this book, read it slowly and make it last as long as possible, but it was just too good!I loved the tender scenes between Brian and Tibby, and the way that Bridget and Erick's relationship unfolds is amazing.I love the it when Lena did the portraits of her family. The way she really saw the souls of her subjects was incredible,and I felt like I was sketching along with her.I loved being able to see Carmen as a "saint" for the first time and I laughed and cried at the same time(i'm not kidding)when Christina gave birth to Ryan with Tibby's help and,erm,excellent coaching.Most of all, I love the beauty of these girl's friendship and their ability to hold tight to each other and perservere through it all.It may be corny, but there's just something about it that gets me.This book could not get any better.

I heard alot of good things about the Sisterhood of Traveling Pants books and when I started to read the first one I was a bit put off. Once I got into the book though I fell in love with the characters. I read the first two books within a week and then debated about reading Girls in Pants. I finally gave in and bought the book this week because I just missed the characters so much.
The first thing that struck me about this book was how much the dynamic of the characters changed because they were almost all in the same town this time around. The pants still played a part but they didn't seem as needed or as important this time around, many times they seemed like an after thought.
I still loved the characters but I did think that this book was a bit forced and that it left alot out. I wanted to see Tibby and Brian interact more, I wanted to know more about the two of them after high-school. I wanted Lena to crack her icy veneer.
I'd recommend this book to people that are fans of the first two books because it is nice to see how the girls have changed and matured but I don't think that this book is as good as the first two.

I liked this book because once I started reading it I couldn't stop. Alot of the situations were things that really happen. They deal with things like boyfriends, college, jobs etc. My favorite character is Bridget. She's alot like me. She's athletic, entertains her friends, and she loves to swim. I would suggest getting this book.

I read the other two because it was part of my high school's book club. I didn't particularly care for them, but I always read squeals and since I owned the other two (they were free) I figured it wouldn't hurt to read this one. It's not as good as the other two, and in fact, it was a struggle for me to get through it. I've been working on this book for almost a month and it's only 338 pages.
It's summer again and it's Tibby, Bridget, Carmen, and Lena's last summer together before college. As before, they are going through life changing experiences. Lena is fighting any way she can to go to the art school of her dreams, Carmen is waiting for the birth of her new sibling while babysitting for Lena's grandmother, Bridget has to coach with the guy she gave her vigirnity to two summers ago at camp, and Tibby...learns to love or something. Tibby's story is the least interesting and a bit melodramic. Carmen's is sweet, but didn't seem worth the time spend on it. Lena's story was a bit more interesting but her character bland as usual. It seems as if Lena has never evoluted over any of the books. Bridget, who I have never liked in any of the other books, had the most interesting story. The rekindling of her relationship with Eric.
I recommand this book, but only if one has read the other two first. It constantly references the other two books and even I got a bit confused.

My thirteen-year-old great-granddaughter, Ashley, was reading two books simultaneously the other day: "Girls in Pants" and my just-published young adult fantasy adventure, "The Toonies Invade Silicon Valley." Well, naturally, I picked up the "Girls in Pants" novel and began reading. I loved it! This fine author really understands her characters and the teen-age mind. A good, wholesome book written by a master storyteller. I highly recommend it. I read the review by Beckahi and wanted to read her other reviews, so I clicked on the link. I LOL when in her description of herself she said she's "a quarter-century old" and had been reading all her life. You see, I'm three-quarters of a century "young" and still reading ... and writing. I write for youngsters like Beckahi and these other reviewers, so I hope they eventually find my young adult fantasy adventure, too.
