4Works good, but may have a bug., May 8, 2023
I got this on eBay last Saturday (4/29,) recieved it on Thursday (5/4,) and been online for quite a while since. Here is my list of pros and cons:

Pros:
-Works through a floor & a few walls, one being about 2 ft. of pure cement.
-Can pick up usable signal throughout 3-story house and outside.
-Nice and small. (I truly thought it would be bigger than it is, more about router size. It is about the size of a deck of cards if you have the antenna down.)

Cons:
-It may have made it a pain in the butt to start up my computer. (It takes about 10-20 tries to start it up, but it could be a number of things and unplugging the device did not help. It works best when I start it up in debugging mode in Windows 2000.)

So, overall, it does its job well, and I would probably give it a 4.25 out of 5. I am using version 2 of this device, so it may not be representive of the version 4 ones, but should be similar.

Jeb Rach

P.S. I am using a Windows 2000 Professional.

2Very Frustrating Product, Mar 18, 2023
When it is working it is grand, but when it doesn't.....

The real problem that I have found with this product is that about every two weeks, it decides to stop working. I then go through a fire drill of trying to figure what has changed to cause the problem: add to my growing collection of wireless networking books; contact Linksys tech support for the umpteenth time; go through the two hour check list they routinely send out; sacrifice a virgin during the first full moon etc.
After anywhere from over two weeks to a single day, it begins to work like a champ again. But just as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, the problem crops up again in a couple of weeks.
This occurs without the benefit of my having changed anything.
As another reviewer mentioned, the software provided does very little in the way of diagnostics.
I have finally run out of patience and have requested an RMA from linksys.
I don't know if any other brand of wireless USB connectors will work any better, but I intend to find out.

4Easy Setup Fair Reception, Mar 7, 2023
Extremely easy setup with USB, plug and play. Signal reception is not as strong as laptop sitting next to it, when connecting to same wireless network, but it is more than adequate. The ease of setup, operation and its small size are excellent attributes.

3Great product when it works, Feb 19, 2023
Product works great but has severe compatibility problems with Windows Xp home. Many hours and $100 to Dell on Call no resolution. Product works great sporadically.

Will go cable very shortly and not even use it except when necessary.
